Why would you want to use a ferro rod over other fire lighting methods?
- Lighters run out of fuel quite quickly and are potentially damaged by water, heat and impacts or other physical damage.
- Matches don’t work well in windy conditions and get damaged by water quite easily.
But a ferro rod on the other hand:
- Works fine when wet.
- Isn’t damaged by water.
- Can literally light thousands of fires.
- Extremely hard to damage or break.
